One of the reasons that people become interested in Internet marketing is because they view it as an easily automated opportunity. The line of thought seems to go that all you have to do is create a website for your product or service, then find some means of attracting customers to the page, and after that you will just be able and watch the sales pour in. When you skim the surface, it seems like it wouldn’t take much to start up. This is probably the mentality that causes many newer internet marketers to shirk their customer service responsibilities. Whether you’re operating an online or a traditional, brick-and-mortar business, customer service is going to be critical to your success. Follow these simple customer service tips and see your clients and customers returning time and again to purchase from you.
Email your current customers to see what suggestions they have for improvement. Explain that you might not be able to put every single suggestion into practice, but that you value their input in helping you make your business better. Some of the things you may learn could surprise you. You never know, this could even remind a few people that they were going to buy something from you! In a single email that allows for feedback, you could draw in hundreds of dollars of sales.
Ask your customers for feedback on your service, and use it. Try to make the time to personally reply to each email you receive, even the ones that are negative. Even though the feedback is negative sometimes, you should look at it as constructive criticism and try to change things for the better. A personal e-mail that says “Thanks for taking the time to offer me feedback on my product” and talks about a specific point or two that they wrote to you about will go a long way to creating a buyer out of even the most skeptical site viewer. What’s more, they will be more likely to buy from you in the future because they will know that you see them as people and not just as PayPal deposits.
Giving support for products or services is a good idea. There are still people who have a hard time grasping technology. Customers will be so happy if you offer technical support. Make sure they know they just need to ask for your help. They’ll be much more likely to recommend you to their associates. Good customer service is what drives word of mouth business. When you offer free support for your products, word will spread that you care about your customers more than your bottom line and the sales should come rolling in!
It isn’t a tough job to offer great customer service. It shouldn’t take you much time at all to include these little touches in your customer service. As a matter of fact, if you will only take ten or fifteen minutes of each day to ensure that your customers are satisfied, you can become successful. Those five or ten minutes a day could net you thousands of dollars in additional sales! Since it is really very easy to offer high quality customer service, why is it that you have not yet improved your efforts in this field? It can only help you!
